Rosemary wasn’t a scent I loved straight away but over the last 10 years it’s grown on me and I have used it in so many ways that I think of it as one of my core group of oils.
Did you know:
- Rosemary oil is used in natural pesticides to kill certain insects. Additionally, the oil helps repel some blood-sucking insects, such as particular mosquitoes and ticks.
- Rosemary oil is known in folk medicine as a pain reliever. Preliminary studies support its pain relief benefits and suggest that it may be more effective than acetaminophen.
- Breathing rosemary oil may help you focus and remember information. It may also aid your memory as you age
- Rosemary oil may combat 7 certain types of hair loss, including male pattern baldness and patchy hair loss.
- Simply smelling rosemary oil may ease your stress levels in situations like exam taking. Rosemary may reduce levels of cortisol, a hormone that can have harmful effects on your body.
- If you experience cold fingers or toes, massaging with rosemary oil may help warm them.

How do you like to use Rosemary essential oil?
I hope however you have spent today, and whoever you have spent it with, you have had a lovely day. Today has been lovely, my parents came over for lunch and I now have this lovely blend diffusing to finish off my day feeling very relaxed.
How has your day been?Have you got anything lovely diffusing?

How’s your morning been so far? Yesterday felt like a very long day so I am having a quiet home-day today ... as always there is some house work to do and as the sun is shining I have the windows and doors open for a bit to give the place a blow through ... I have also made up some more of my favourite air freshener spray. I know I have shared before how easy it is to make, but I thought I would just share again!
It’s not just an air freshener spray, it’s actually an everything spray! You can use it as a perfume, a linen spray or a fabric refresher spray. Today I have put lavender and bergamot and it is lovely! Remember if you have dogs, keep away from Tea Tree.
It is so simple to make, get a glass spray bottle. This one is 50ml. I make them in small bottles as it means I can change the oils I use regularly!Put your essential oils in ... there is no set amount and lets face it, with essential oils another drop of oil always sneaks in! For this size spray I use about 10-15 drops, but you can use more or less depending how strong you want it. So this would have had about 7 drops of each lavender and bergamot. Then put a dash of witch hazel in (this is because essential oils and water don’t mix) then fill the rest with water. You will need to give it a shake before you use it.Have fun experimenting with scents and let me know what is your favourite!
Come in, hows your day been? I've had a lovely home pottering day and been washing sofa covers for the cottage, unfortunately not quite warm enough here to hang on the line yet, but I do love the smell of clean laundry and this blend is just perfect for days like today!

Have you been feeling a bit congested this winter ... eucalyptus is AMAZING for clearing your sinuses! Did you know the cooling scent of eucalyptus essential oil can relieve mental exhaustion by boosting circulation, stimulating the mind out of sluggishness and rejuvenating the spirit! If you are suffering from sinus congestion or sinus tension that causes headaches, you can diffuse eucalyptus essential oil to clear nasal passages and to eliminate harmful airborne bacteria.
These lovely shower steamers are a great way to clear your head and so much fun to use!
YOU WILL NEED:
5-7 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
2 tablespoon of water
120g of cornstarch
Ice cube tray or silicone cases
INSTRUCTIONSAdd the eucalyptus essential oil and cornstarch to a mixing bowl. Using a spoon, thoroughly mix them together until the mixture appears to be a crumbly powder.
Mix the water into the powder until clumps begin to form in the powder. Please note: This amount of water will not be sufficient for forming a paste; however, from this starting point, more water can be carefully rationed to form a paste.
Continue adding a few drops of water at a time, mixing it in well. As soon as water touches the Cornstarch, the latter begins to harden, so adding water slowly is critical.
Once a thick paste has formed, transfer the mixture to a mini ice cube tray or your cases. Smooth and flatten the mixture so that it is level with the top of the ice cube tray, in order to form perfect cubes.
Freeze the tray contents for 1 hour or until the mixture is set.
When the shower cubes are ready for use, place them on the shower floor and turn the water on. To prevent slippage in the shower, place the cube in a shallow dish or near the shower drain.
Shower as usual and enjoy the aromatic vapor from a cube as the water melts it and diffuses its decongestant scent.
Store unused shower cubes inside a jar in a cool, dry place. If the cubes are runny due to too much water in the mixture, store them in the freezer.
If the cubes do not diffuse a strong enough aroma for personal scent preference, more essential oils can be added to the finished cubes. This can be done by first crushing the cubes in a mixing bowl, then adding a few more drops of essential oils to the powder, and stirring in small amounts of water to recreate a paste. The paste can then be placed in an ice cube tray and frozen until ready for use.
