I’ve had these little flowers waiting around for me to make them into something for a while now and so tonight I sat down, turned off my laptop, and crocheted a chain adding a flower every 12 or so stitches … I’m so pleased with how it’s turned out and I think I will pop it on my seasonal branches (tree!) for the Spring and Easter!

so we had a sunny weekend!!
I really hope its going to last!
We bundled Billy and Timber in the van and popped down the road to the pool. (We left Dilly as she has ulcers on her eyes at the moment and didn't think dirty pool water was a good thing for them!)
Billy did get out the van and have a wander about, this was just while we grabbed a drink!
Timber decided the middle of the pool was a good place to howl!

Most weeks I travel 40 mins to go and visit my parents. Yesterday as I was driving, the sun was shining and it really felt Spring was on it's way! We are pretty high up and usually it's a lot cooler where we are. It felt like traveling through the season! Our daffodils are up with buds but only a couple have burst into bloom. As I drove, even just a few miles down the road the colour hit me and soon all along the side of the road was full of yellow. By the time I got to Mum's, we were in full Spring and her garden was full of pretty primroses, daffodils and other lovely flowers.
It made me really feel like I am stepping into something. God made me a promise back in January, and even gave me a time. I really had a moment driving over there yesterday that like stepping into Spring, I was stepping into His promise!
Outside, this morning looks so different. Yesterday everything was so clear. Today although the sun is SHINING LIKE MAD there is a white mist down the valley and its just like a glowing light and the dew drops are like diamonds on the hen pen!

week 18 ... leaves on both trees now, and on Wednesday it was almost as if we could watch the leaves appear throughout the day!
May is my favourite month as its my birthday month and usually the start of some really lovely weather, if we haven't had any yet ... and this last couple of weeks hasn't been nice :/
Steve has been lambing all month, 7 days a week so I am looking forward to having him round a bit more again :)
I am pleased that I managed to get a lot of the hallway border painted like I wanted to ... its not quite finished hence, no photos but I will show it to you as soon as its done!
We also now have clean water ... no more boiling water or having to get drinking water from Steve's parents or from when I visit my mum and dad :) We are not on mains water, it is spring water, and we have to have a special ultra-violet light filter thing fitted ... which clever Steve has done.
not sure if you can see the difference in the photo, but there is one!!
so my plans for may ... well I really want to finish the hallway and there is a bit between the kitchen and living room that needs doing too. I will be seeing a couple of my brothers and their families this month too and I can't wait!!!
am also hoping that we can get the wood sorted under the kitchen units (by the floor) as they are dust traps and every time some dried dog food rolls under, Dilly and Timber lie there for ages with their noses shoved under till I crawl down on my hands and knees and try and find what it is they want!

week 15 ... the sun has been out this week and mum and I made a start on a flower bed for me :) but there has also been a cold wind so I am still wrapped up! There are buds on the trees, but I don't think they can be seen yet in the photo.
week 14 ... I waited all week for a lovely day to take a photo, but we had a few days of fog and the rest have been cold and wet :(
in among the snow days, the rainy days, the foggy days and the frosty days this month, there have been some sunny days that we have all been enjoying ... here are some photos taken over the last month of some sunshine lovers!
our little wild kitten has grown so much and loves playing with Timber and Dilly :)
Timber is a lovely little fella and really loves Steve, he was so chilled out here watching Steve's dad trying out the lawn mower after they had just fixed it!
I got up this morning to the sound of new born lambs from just across the road ... it was so lovely to watch them!
here's hoping April is full of a lot more sunny days!

week 12 ... another sunrise ... taken yesterday ... look at all the birds! ... and yes, it was that blue!
week 10 ... already! the hills are beginning to look more green and there are buds on my rose bush but the trees are still bare :(
how did march come about already, how is it the weekend again??
we have been in our little cabin for 3 months now, we have a new puppy who has grown so much and is so much bigger than Dilly now! we have had some pretty crazy weather and we are still in love! hahaI have been on a diet for the last month, you know the sort of diet where you say, I am on a diet, but still eat the same. The sort of diet where every morning you wake up and say I am really going to be good today and it only lasts a couple of hours. The sort of diet where you don't lose any weight, in fact probably put weight on. The sort of diet when you are not in the right head space at all. The sort of diet when you are not really on a diet, you just know you should be! This year I have the biggest goal I have ever had, the sort of goal that should, if any goal would, get me focused and motivated to lose weight ... our wedding ... I need to stop faffing, I need to focus and be strict, I need to have a plan and to stick to it.
so I have decided to do something for lent ... I have never really given up anything for lent before, but I feel that this year its a good time to give it a go. So I am giving up sugar ... starting on Wednesday (cos I do want to enjoy my pancakes!) I am going to be good, I am going to be focused, I am going to be weighing the following Monday and be pleased with myself!
Before you say, hey, isn't lent about getting closer to God? well I am planning on that too ... I am looking forward to hearing what he has to say to me and for March to be a good month!
wish me luck ... and if you would like a good pancake recipe, then check out my lovely-sis-in-laws blog x
do you like dandelions? ... I have never really liked them much before, I'm not that keen on yellow flowers and dandelions smell funny ... they make your hands smell funny too ... they also are rather boring, they don't have nice rounded petals and are just all one colour ...
.. but I couldn't help but smile and feel a new affection for them when walking Dilly yesterday as the park was FULL of them and it was very striking!
it was lovely to sit in the sunshine and take photos while Dilly had a run around
yes, I even took my flip flops off!
my favourite flowers at the moment though are the apple blossom that is growing on all the little baby trees that were planted last year ... blossom are the opposite of dandelions, they are perfect ;) haha
yes I know I look tired, but it was a no make-up day and I don't care ;)
Dilly-dog looked anything but tired ... she never stops! She is so fluffy and shaggy now! ... there is a little doggy under all that hair!
dandelion clocks are wonderful things though ... maybe I am getting a soft spot for the old dandelion? ;)
