Can you believe we are at the end of July? It has felt like a busy month ... I am really pleased with what we have managed to get done this month, but I am looking forward to enjoying the rest of the summer at a slightly slower pace!

How are your crops coming on?
I’ve been picking tomato’s for the last month, cucumbers for the last week and today some runner beans! 🍅🥒🫛
It is my first year growing cucumbers so it’s very exciting!! They are lovely and sweet and will definitely be growing them again 😍 The potato’s in potato bags haven’t done so well but there seem to be lots in the compost heap and even in with the beans that are doing very well! 🥔🥔🥔
I also wanted to give a little shout out for Bill’s ‘snack garden’ that got Silver in Hundred House Show! 🥈

Long Summer days arrive, June’s gentle light does thrive. Flowers bloom, a fragrant sight, Summer’s warmth and pure delight.
I love all the seasons, and what I love about this one is having the doors open and the flow from inside to out ... no muddy foot prints and how green everything is ... I also have a weird love of the smell of tomato plants, which I am now getting in the greenhouse when I water them (an unpopular opinion I know!)We had a lovely morning yesterday at the School Summer Fair and it was a lovely way to try out my new display stands, which worked well.

Hello! How has your May been so far? I can’t believe how fast this month is going by ... the sunshine has called me outside and I have been working on new stock and new displays, Billy has broken his arm and we have had a few very long games of UNO -Show ‘em no mercy (If you like UNO, you will love this!) I have managed to fit in some embroidery and even had some days when my laptop hasn’t even been turned on!

It's Friday night and it's been a super hot day ... I am not good in the heat ... I liturally wilt! To help cool down I am diffusing lovely refreshing peppermint ... also good to clear your head when you are feeling full of pollen!
It is also really easy to make a refreshing peppermint spray, just add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to a spray bottle, along with a little aloe vera gel or distilled witch hazel and then top up with water. Shake well and spritz when you are feeling hot and bothered!!
We are also seeing a few flies that are beginning to bug me, so citronella is going in the diffuser along with the peppermint as flies don't like citronella!
It's the last week of term and I am trying to get boring stuff done before Billy breaks up so we can all have a fun Summer together and I can't wait!
This time last year Billy was waiting for his greatest wish, a baby brother ... this year his hopes are to go to McDonalds and hunt for sea glass! (he has never had a McDonalds, I hope he isn't too disappointed!!)

The other weekend Billy and I went to the carnival ... and we even went in a float!! I was dressed as a flower and Billy was a mouse ... we were having a tea party with the mad hatter!!
It was the best day and we had so much fun ........... oh and our float came 2nd!!!
it was a gorgeous day yesterday and as Steve has worked all summer and hardly had a day off we decided to go for a drive around. We packed up a lunch and ended up at Elan Valley, we hadn't been there since last Autumn and it was gorgeous.
