week 32 ... have had a bit of rain this week!

we love watching the swans down at the pool and the wooflets love it too!

another drive around Wales yesterday, first a quick look at Llandrindod Wells and the dragon in the lake ... it was incredibly misty but it was still lovely and magical!



We wanted to head to Rhayader and watch the Red Kites being fed, but that wasn't till 2pm, so after a cup of tea and slice of cake we headed through, what is quickly becoming one of my favourite places, Elan Valley. The mist was not going anywhere, and was like a blanket all around us.







After another cup of tea, we watched all the Red Kites come out of nowhere and the trees around to feed ... it was so beautiful to watch them swooping down to pick up their lunch! They never landed on the ground but after flying around they would suddenly drop and gracefully swoop. The crows were the first to show up though and the last to leave ... they wanted their lunch too!

I had a holiday day today ... yes I know, I never take holidays, but I have a lot of days left to take before I lose them and so today we headed to the tallest waterfall in England and Wales ... Pistyll Rhaeadr ... the weather was a bit over cast but was surprisingly mild where the waterfall was as although high up, it is sheltered on all sides by the hills.









We also headed over to Lake Vyrnwy, which is huge but really beautiful ... I wish I had taken some photos, but it was raining by then ... I would love to go back, stop for a walk around and walk across the dam ... If you are near Snowdonia, near the Shropshire border, both are worth a visit ... take your wellies and your camera!
