DIY Fabric Softener

There are lots of great softener recipes out there but this is a super-easy-peasy one! A friend showed me how to do it a few years ago now, and I have been using it ever since and before you ask ... Steve has never mentioned a smell of vinegar on his clothes, the bedding or towels, and I can't smell the vinegar either!

All you do is fill a jam jar with white vinegar and add some orange peel. One orange peel per jar is ok, but if you have a large jar like I have here, you may want a bit more.
You can also add essential oils! 10-20 drops (depending on the size of the jar) of your favourite, as you are adding orange peel, other citrus oils are lovely, but pick which ever you like!

Leave the jar to stand for about 4 weeks ... I just pop mine in the cupboard and when it was ready, fished out the orange peel with a fork and add a couple of desert spoons to my washing.

Told you it was easy!
