I have heard it say ‘your true character is what you do when no one is watching’ I think it is meant to refer to the good deeds you when no one is watching, but if someone saw what I got up to they would discover that when I do have a moment for myself, I am a tea drinking, homebody, who really loves to sew or make something with wool, while listening to or watching a good crime drama!!
